I'm a bad person

I may come off as being sweet, innocent, shy even... However, I would like to tell you about the most awful thing I did.

Picture me in middle school...

Full of angst and teenage rebellion in my Mickey Mouse sweater ;) (Try to ignore the dog, I dare you)

My group of friends and I got this really great idea to start this book. We would write all of our group of friends names on each page, and then write what we all really thought of that person, of course anonymously... We pretty much had a burn book before Mean Girls even thought about it... Except the worst part was it was only about each other.

As you can imagine, what went from "such a great friend" & "sooooo pretty" went south pretty fast... I don't know who starting being "honest" first, but I do remember specifically saying that one girl smelt funny, and someone else was kinda stuck up.... Of course written in neon gel pens & disguised handwriting. The book ended with hurt feelings & destroyed friendships (as dramatic as middle school can be).

I honestly don't know who started it. However, I do know that I got some of the biggest blame for the whole thing. In high school, I was still blamed by some of the girls, and wouldn't be surprised if today there was still some hatred and animosity.

So to all the Zia Middle School girl whose feeling were hurt by this "Burn Book" I sincerely apologize.

Kristen, I love the pics. I can't ignore the dog, it is too cute :o). Seeing you in your middle school picture reminds me of what you looked like (only you were younger) when I last baby-sat you and your siblings and cousins. I absolutely loved baby-sitting you all so much that I went into teaching, not that all of my students were as pleasurable to be around as you and the rest of the kids. I am so happy for you and I'm thankful for everything that allows me to keep in communication with you and those dear memories of my college days :o). Blessings!!! Paula
