This past week we had our Kid's Crusade, "Treasure Quest." It was quite fun, interesting, and exhausting all wrapped together! It was fun, but I'll be honest, I am very glad it's over :)
One night, at the altar call, we went around and prayed for the kids about anything that they wanted. I went up to one little girl, probably about 6, and asked if I could pray with her about something. She poured out her heart to me that she had lost one of her barrettes. Now, I'll be honest, all I could think was, really a barrette? Sometimes I think I get the duds when it comes to prayer (can I say that?)... Like I am super pumped for God to move in someones life, and I ask them what I can pray with them about, and it's something ridiculous, like I'm afraid of bugs or I lost my barrette (clearly I work with children).
I realize how awful that sounds, but please, let me keep going!
So I pray with her and ask God to help her find her barrette, and that she could get more barrettes (that's real). Then I sent her on her way and forgot all about it.
This past Sunday, I'm walking around our Kids Ministry Center, and guess what? I found her little barrette! I couldn't believe it! I realized that what seemed so insignificant and minuscule to me, was a very big deal to this little girl. And what concerns her, is exactly what God wants to care of. He loves it, and delights in helping His children. It was just sweet reminder, that God cares about the tiniest desires of our heart, even barrettes
